厳密には、'used to' は典型的な句動詞ではなく準助動詞・欠陥動詞ですが、学習者向けの句動詞リストによく含まれます。必ず動詞の原形が続きます。注意：疑問文の 'Did you use to...?' と 'used you to...?' はどちらも可能ですが、現代英語では 'did you use to' の方がずっと普通です。
